A town with rich natural beauty

Konitsa is a mountain town located in the northernmost part of Ioannina. It borders on the east with W. Macedonia (N. Kastoria and N. Grevena) and on the west with Albania. It is a city with a rich historical and cultural course, which is why the tourism of the area is constantly increasing.

Konitsa is 64km away from Ioannina, and 40 minutes from the Airport. The distance from Athens is 550 km and Thessaloniki 350 km. The connection with Macedonia and Thessaloniki is made through the national road Ioannina – Kozani, which at the height of Naples meets the Egnatia Road.

The river Aoos

Aoos is a river of Epirus with a total length of 260 km. Of these, 70 km are in Greek territory and the remaining 190 km in Albanian. The river Aoos due to the beauty of the landscape that surrounds it has contributed significantly to the tourist development of the area. Inside the ravine is built the Monastery of Stomiou while at its exit is the bridge of Konitsa. The river is 1.5km away from Dentro Guest House.

Mastorochoria

Mastorochoria is 29km away from our hostel. They consist of 27 villages and several visitors to the area visit the settlement, due to the unique beauty of which they are surrounded.

The bridge of Konitsa

The Bridge of Konitsa, was built in 1869 and is located at the southwestern end of the city, right at the entrance of the ravine of the river Aoos, which it bridges.

It is a single-arched stone bridge that is distinguished by its huge arch. Our guest house is 1.5km walk from the bridge, and it is a point of interest for every visitor of the area.

The monastery of Panagia Stomiou

In the ravine of Aoos, is the Monastery of Panagia Stomiou. It is a reference point for Konitsa. Its location and about an hour’s walk is captivating.

Baths of Kavasilon

Kavasilon Thermal Baths are 11km away from the guest house, and have a suitable infrastructure for spa treatments.

Tree Church of Agios Paisios

The Tree Church of Agios Paisios is a small church in a tree, and holds the third place in the sights of Konitsa according to the global TripAdvisor guide. The distance from our hostel is 22 km.

Amaranth Baths

The Amaranth Baths operate with the natural use of hot air that is channeled from the interior of the earth, thus making them the only Baths of their kind in Europe. They are only 19km away from the hostel.
